EDDY GRANT’S ICE RECORDS LABEL

TO MAKE DIGITAL DOWNLOADS AVAILABLE FROM

ICERECORDS.COM AND EDDYGRANT.COM

ST. PHILIP, Barbados (JANUARY 17, 2006)  EDDY GRANT, through his Ice Records label, has become One Of The Few Major International Recording Stars to offer his recorded works for sale as digital download recordings on his ICERECORDS.COM and EDDYGRANT.COM websites.

Founded by music superstar and businessman EDDY GRANT, Ice Records is the home to Classic Calypso, Soca and Ringbang.   The Barbados-based Ice Records is the true home of artists of these genres and owns the largest catalog of Caribbean music in the world.  The label features artists such as music legends EDDY GRANT, CALYPSO ROSE, LORD KITCHENER, MIGHTY SPARROW, MIGHTY TERROR, ROARING LION, among others.

2006 will see additional recordings from Ice Records available for digital downloading from the ICERECORDS.COM and EDDYGRANT.COM websites.

There have been, or indeed are, very few artists that have managed to achieve as much as EDDY GRANT has done musically or in business, and still be the controller of his own destiny.   In 1974 he set up his own record label Ice Records. Now totally in control of his own production and distribution, EDDY became one of the few artists with the creative freedom to experiment with his music.  Reggae, Soul, Calypso, Pop, Rock.… you name it (EDDY plays virtually all musical instruments).

EDDY GRANT has released over two dozen albums.  He has had numerous hit singles including ‘Living On The Front Line,’ Do You Feel My Love’" 'I Don't Wanna Dance,’ ‘Romancing The Stone,’ ‘Gimme Hope Jo'anna,’  and the blockbuster, ‘Electric Avenue’.

In 2005, EDDY GRANT completed a new studio album entitled "REPARATION".  The album which has been available through ICERECORDS.COM and EDDYGRANT.COM will be released and distributed to brick-and-mortar record shops worldwide this February.

EDDY GRANT was born in the village of Plaisance in Guyana. In February 2005, the Government and People of Guyana, through the Guyana Post Office Corporation, issued a series of stamps to honor their most famous son, EDDY GRANT, in  recognition of his contribution as an "Ambassador for Guyana" and his worldwide success in the entertainment business for forty years.  Fifty percent (50%) of all proceeds received by EDDY from the sale of the four stamps depicting this music legend and entertainment industry entrepreneur go to EDDY's Ringbang Foundation to enable it to make a valuable and long lasting contribution to the rehabilitation of Guyana.
