Involved since 1967 in the fight against theDuvalier dictatorship. * Helped save Jean-Bertrand Aristide's life on September 11, 1988 duringthe massacre at the Saint Bosco church in Port-au-Prince. * National Coordinator of the fight against drug trafficking in Haiti,1991-1994 (served largely in exile). During this time he investigated theillicit dealings of the CIA-backed military regime of Raul Cedras. * Secretary of State for National Defense, 1994-1995. Instrumental increating the National Police and dismantling the brutal Haitian Army. * President of Foundation Eko Vwa Jan Dominique, an organization whichaims to pursue the work of the late journalist Jean Léopold Dominique,assassinated on April 3, 2000. Founding member of S.O.S. (Sant ObsèvasyonSitwayen) a citizen watchdog group, created after February 29, 2004 coupand whose motto is; "Politics is too important to be abandoned to thepoliticians."
