Torontos newest companies, Theatre Archipelago join forces for the 

Canadian premiere of 'Fallen Angel and the Devil Concubine'.  

This venerable work from Jamaicas GroundWork Collective makes its way 

onto the Toronto artistic scene with a new, fresh adaptation after 

successful runs in Jamaica, the USA and England!

'Fallen Angel and the Devil Concubine' crosses the cultural and regional 

divide in several ways, and shows that though the locale, climate and 

place may differ, the issues that the homeless and poor face parallels 

greatly within our own communities. With this incredible story 

unraveling in the belly of Torontos historic Parkdale neighborhood, as a 

focal point to further expand upon the plays premise and the audiences 

emotional participation, this performance will ignite sparks of 

understanding and compassion for the plight of those who reside just 

around the corner and those nameless faces that we pass every day. 

Featuring Rhoma Spencer (#6 theatre artist of 2005 by Now Magazine) and 

three time Dora nominee John Blackwood  (The History of the Village of 

the Small Huts, CBCs At The Hotel with Ken Finkleman, Missing with 

Vivica A. Fox, Jamaica Man) who adopts one of the principal female roles 

in this play and directed by ahdri mandiela (stori ya, The Burglary, Two 

Can Play, Cast Iron, voted #1 theatre artist of 2005 by Now Magazine) 

this will be theatrical experience not to be missed.
