From The Founding Office of The Million Woman March

Philadelphia, PA

October 26, 2006

Yesterday, October 25, 2006 was the 9 year anniversary of the largest gathering in the world: of any women, anywhere.

It happened on a brisk Saturday morning  in Phila. PA with an estimated 2.5 million primarily Black females in attendance under the banner of " Repentance, Resurrection, and Restoration, and with an equal dash of operational Respect and Love. And under the direction of its visionary, architect, and founder, Sis. Phile' Chionesu, (also known as Empress Chi) who also served as a Co-Chair for the mass public event, the gathering was an overwhelming success, all that was mandated,  and much more...

It was (and is) The Million Woman March.

After nine years of continual labor,  fine tuning,  house cleaning and restructuring, providing on going mission oriented services and programs, and employing necessary growth  and development strategies, the National MWM officially announced (in Love Park located at 15th and JFL Blvd. overlooking the BF Parkway where the 1997 activity took place) plans for the Million Woman March 10 Year Anniversary Celebration and International Universal Movement Initiation.

The 10 MWM  Year Anniversary Assembly will not only unite millions of Black women, (and families) worldwide, but it will introduce and unveil the Million Woman March "5-Year Action Plan +2" for Power, Prosperity, and Peace.

The MWM 10 Year Celebration also brings forward phase #2  of the MWM original theme: The first being the state and phase of Repentance, (to repent for not doing what we should have to prevent the continual devastation and deteriorate of ourselves as Black women, or families, and communities,,Mother Earth, and for not allowing ourselves to become more in tune and divine order with the Most High and closer and more appreciative of those who have come before us ( our ancestors) the second being "Resurrection",

Three locations are being explored that will  possibly host this long awaited reunion and "next steps' initiatives. Though there will be major MWM pre-event activities, during the course of 2007, that will take place in Philadelphia, (which is the home of the National MWM Headquarters,)  the actual mass gathering event will not be held there.

The three cities selected are:

Atlanta, GA, Detroit, Michigan, and New Orleans, LA

The announcement for the city selected will take place on or around Jan. 1, 2007; giving those planning yo attend approximately nine months to do so.

Messages and letters of support have already began to pour in, and it is anticipated that thousand of various groups ,organizations, businesses etc, will have signed on to join this incredible and historic gathering by the time.that the information regarding the selection of the hosting city is given.

A new MWM 2007 National/International Organizing Committee is being developed by the Founding MWM Office, in addition to MWM Local Coordinating Committees (LCC), and other related teams are now forming to assist in the further coordination of this great undertaking.

There are several pre-event projects leading up to the October 2007 mass rally and celebration gathering as a way of assuring that general some of the concerns echoed in the Black Community and MWM platform issue tasks (work) are being addressed and accomplished.

These direct action projects include (but are not limited to)  the campaign to initiate National "Black Women's Appreciation and Awareness Month, the National Observance for a Rosa Parks Holiday/Observance,a million signatures (The House- Moore Campaign) of Black females 18 and over in support of HR 40 and African Human/Moral Rights Violations  Remedies (Reparations, Restitution,, and Restoration), a National Rally To Fight Violence and Abuse of Black Women, Girls, and Elders (may 2007), and a million signatures for the removal of the bounty on Assata Shakur and demand for a unconditional pardon (part of the "Millions For Assata Campaign" that will officially go in effect Nov. 2007)

The "One In A Million" member Campaign ( the goal is 1 million members by Oct.25, 2007) has also officially been launched, This is a support membership that carries a fee of $1-$1,000,000 that will assist in the development of the Million Woman Movement School for Girls,  Black Women's/Pan African Women's  Resource Centers, and affordable community based wholistic health and natural healing services.centers.

A "One In A Million" membership card will be given to all who support this effort, and a quarterly newsletter to provide you with continual updates, reports, etc.   This membership is a support membership and is open to all.

A wide range of MWM memberships are also available.  There is something of interest to all
